About

Hello, my name is Anne Tillotson White and it is a pleasure to welcome you to the Boyd Harvey House. My two sons, Collin and Carter, and I have enjoyed living in the Concord/Choto area for over 20 years. In late 2018, I purchased the property, and in 2019, I began doing minor repairs and design work to the home and both of its outbuildings.

It will always be a priority to maintain and preserve the Boyd Harvey House and grounds. It is a beautiful architectural example of a pre-Civil War, brick, Federal-style farmhouse and represents one of the twelve pre-Civil War brick homes that are still standing in Knox County. Beyond the beautiful architecture, the home's charming spirit often captivates guests as soon as they arrive on the estate or walk through the front door. Embracing its own style of Southern hospitality, the Boyd Harvey House enjoys drawing guests in and bringing them back. Hence, the Southern tradition of saying,"Ya'll come back!" is frequently heard by its guests.

Creating relaxing, inspiring, and customizable atmospheres for guests to enjoy is my passion. Relationships are the foundation in everything – both personally and professionally. I enjoy providing lodging and private dining experiences that allow guests to spend quality time with family and friends. My hope is that time spent at the Boyd Harvey House results in guests leaving with deeper relationships than when they arrived and possibly a few new ones have begun to be built, too.

My inspirations come from living in this unique home, the beautiful East Tennessee area, and from growing up in Asheville, NC. I spent a lot of my young adult years working in Biltmore Village and traveling to quaint mountain towns in Western North Carolina including Boone, Highlands, Cashiers, Sapphire Valley, Brevard, Black Mountain, etc.

Working at the Omni Hotel in Durham, NC, and University Florist in Chapel Hill, NC, while pursuing my degree in Industrial Relations at UNC, has also influenced my vision for the estate. In addition, Charleston, SC; Savannah, GA; New Orleans, LA; Fairhope, AL; the 30A area of Florida; Franklin, TN; and Hopkinsville, KY have also been major inspirations for my design choices.

I moved to Knoxville in 1992 and have enjoyed working and traveling throughout TN and especially East TN as a medical sales representative. I love meeting new people and visiting the charming, small, Southern towns that are located on all the beautiful backroads throughout East Tennessee.

The scenery where we live is absolutely breathtaking. One of the things that I have enjoyed the most from living in Concord is the beauty that Northshore Drive provides; it is definitely not your typical “beaten path” to and from home. Driving on a road that winds along the river provides some of the most dramatic scenery-especially during sunrise and sunset. There is nothing like seeing the fog on the river early in the morning and the sun rising with the Great Smoky Mountains in the background and that one lone fisherman standing up and casting his rod from his boat. I feel like I am on vacation almost every time I travel this road.

Hearing the sounds of the Norfolk Southern Railway and seeing it travel next to the Tennessee River while driving down Northshore Drive or sitting outside at Lakeside Restaurant in Concord is, again, something I do not take for granted. Tennessee has an incredible spirit, and I will always be thankful to call our Volunteer State-Home. Thank you for your interest in the Boyd Harvey House, I look forward to sharing this historical and one-of-a-kind property with you.
